Black Mirror

Black Mirror is one of my favorite series at the moment, because it can easily be reality. That’s the impressive part about this series. It’s about technology and how it effects our daily lives. Warning: This review will containt spoilers.

Black Mirrors certainly is a series that I would watch again. I actually kinda binge watched it and then I mean the 1 season a day kind of binge watching. This series was quite shocking as it showed us a world with very advanced technology which took over people’s lives. Which isn’t that very different from the world we live in right now.

Each episode is a stand-alone story with technology as the main point. It tells a dark story about the characters daily life in this world filled with technology. From a story in which everybody rates each other (which will heavily effect your status and you can even lose your job if you’re rated too low) to a story about two people who meet each other in a virtual reality world, even a story about how wrong it could be if people could rewatch their memories. The stories are very different from each other.

I am very impressed by how they showed this world and how it just took me along. How I found myself clicking on ‘next episode’ after every episode. Before I knew it I had watched the entire series! Every episode had its own unique flavor and storytelling. The actors also gave an incredible performance! Each and everyone was a great succes. The sheer emotions that were displayed in the episodes really got to me.

These are the episodes that I enjoyed the most:

Fifteen Million Merits

In a world where people’s lives consist of riding excercise bikes to gain credits, Bing tries to help a woman get on to a singing competition show.

White Bear
Victoria wakes up and cannot remember anything about her life. Everyone she encounters refuses to communicate with her.

A woman desperate to boost her social media score hits the jackpot when she’s invited to a swanky wedding, but the trip doesn’t go as planned.

San Junipero
In a seaside town in 1987, a shy young woman and an outgoing party girl strike up a powerful bond that seems to defy the laws of space and time.

At this moment the series has three seasons, from which the last one came out in 2017. I certainly hope that 2017 will bring us another season to enjoy! (According to IMDB it does!!)

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤❤ A personal favorite
